The project will focus on southern Playas de Rosarito and will serve MSMEs, tourism service providers, family-owned businesses, community groups, operators and local stakeholders involved in gastronomy, fishing, rural and recreational activities, culture, nature, coastal tourism and other tourism-related services.
The project includes the identification and prioritization of tourism areas, corridors and nodes, an assessment of their alignment with federal community-based tourism criteria, classification of tourism service providers, and analysis of their business development needs.
The tourism offering identified through the project will be organized within a digital destination platform, providing information on tourism service providers, experiences, corridors and tourism nodes identified during the initiative.
Project Background
Southern Playas de Rosarito includes areas and activities with significant tourism value related to gastronomy, fishing, rural and recreational activities, culture, nature and coastal tourism.
Areas considered within the project include Puerto Nuevo, Popotla, Primo Tapia, the Rosarito–Puerto Nuevo Coastal Corridor, surf destinations, rural areas, tourism ranches, recreational facilities, and other gastronomic, fishing, cultural and natural tourism nodes.
According to the project documentation, part of this tourism offering is currently dispersed, with limited territorial coordination and varying levels of readiness to meet community-based tourism criteria.
The project seeks to generate information that will help identify opportunities, gaps and priorities for future business and destination development initiatives.
The Project Includes:
- Identify MSMEs, tourism service providers and local stakeholders associated with tourism areas, corridors and nodes in the southern part of the municipality.
- Conduct a preliminary assessment of their compatibility with the federal community-based tourism model.
- Classify tourism service providers according to their readiness level, development gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Organize information about the identified tourism offering within a digital destination platform.
- Improve the initial visibility of tourism service providers, experiences, corridors and tourism nodes.
- Develop a general roadmap for business, territorial and institutional development.
- Recommend a pilot tourism area, corridor or node for a potential future implementation phase.
