To attract new investment, bringing international hotel brands to the region and strengthening hospitality infrastructure along the Tijuana–Rosarito–Ensenada Coastal Corridor, the Binational Hotel Investment Forum will take place on August 27, bringing together developers, operators, investors, financial institutions and representatives from major hotel brands in Mexico and the United States.
Given the importance of this initiative for the region’s economic and tourism development, the Consejo Consultivo de Desarrollo Económico de Playas de Rosarito (CCDER) has joined other institutions and organizations in supporting the Forum through resources provided by the Baja California Business Trust (FIDEM).
This support contributes to creating opportunities for investment, business connections and greater competitiveness throughout the coastal corridor.
The Forum takes on particular relevance given the region’s potential for hospitality development. While the Tijuana–Rosarito–Ensenada corridor, spanning more than 100 kilometers of coastline, currently offers approximately 2,904 hotel rooms, the stretch between San Diego and Oceanside has more than 8,000 rooms.
This difference represents a significant opportunity for developers, hotel operators and real estate investment groups interested in expanding within the region.
César Rivera González, President of CCDER, said that supporting initiatives of this kind helps create the conditions needed to bring new investment opportunities to Playas de Rosarito and the broader coastal corridor, while leveraging the region’s strategic advantages and tourism potential.
“We have a coastal corridor with tremendous tourism potential and a privileged location within a binational region. At CCDER, we believe it is essential to support platforms that connect those with development projects and opportunities with investors, financial institutions, hotel operators and brands capable of turning that potential into new investment for Baja California,” Rivera González said.
He added that expanding hotel infrastructure can do more than increase lodging capacity. It can also strengthen tourism activity, create employment opportunities and generate broader economic benefits across other industries and service sectors throughout the region.
Luis Bustamante Fernández, CEO of Bustamante Business Center and organizer of the event, explained that the Forum was created in response to the region’s continued growth and the need to expand lodging options and specialized infrastructure to meet demand throughout the CaliBaja region.
“The Forum will serve as a meeting point to build partnerships, analyze trends and generate new hotel and real estate projects that respond to the growth of tourism in Baja California and its relationship with California,” Bustamante Fernández said.
The Forum is designed to strengthen connections among Baja California and California’s hotel, real estate, financial and tourism sectors, bringing together projects and development opportunities with companies, operators, brands and institutions that have the capacity to invest, finance and participate in their implementation.
Four Specialized Panels and a Hands-On Workshop
The program will include four specialized panels and one workshop.
The first panel, “The Binational Hotel Market of the CaliBaja Coastal Corridor,” will bring together operators, developers, investors and industry representatives to examine binational market trends and the factors required to attract new hotel brands, investment and projects that contribute to a more competitive and integrated hospitality sector.
A second panel, “Financing and Capital for New Hotel Developments,” will focus on the financial resources and investment structures needed to move new hospitality projects forward.
The Forum will also feature “International Franchises and Operators: How to Attract Global Brands to the CaliBaja Coastal Region,” providing insight into how major hotel companies evaluate new markets, what they look for in developers and the conditions required to expand into emerging destinations such as Baja California.
The fourth panel, “From Vision to Reality: Successful Investments in CaliBaja,” will showcase projects and experiences that have successfully moved from concept to implementation throughout the region.
From Opportunity to Hotel Project
One of the Forum’s featured activities will be the workshop “Case Study: From Opportunity to Hotel Project.”
During this hands-on exercise, a property located along the coastal corridor will be evaluated in real time by specialists in development, hotel operations, design and feasibility.
Experts will analyze the property’s opportunities, risks and potential strategies to determine its viability as a hotel development.
